I am currently in Facebook Singapore. Working in the Ops org (non tech, Ops-strategy role). I really want to make it to doing more strategic work, and work closely with the tech org- aspiring to make it to Product Manager.
I am considering if I should apply to better opportunities in SF or other offices (thinking of SF>Seattle>NY) in the US? Given my citizenship status, US visa is not very challenging to obtain.
Really looking for genuine advise from people who have moved from FAANG SG office to US offices, and vice-versa; or have worked closely with the teams in US/SG being in SG/US.
-> Keen to know how your experience has been working in the US, quality of work, work life balance compared to SG, career growth opportunities, pros and cons of living in the US, TC adjustment post moving to US, raising a child in US compared to SG (I am newly married)... and any other considerations I may have missed.
Also, what would be my expected TC in SF, Seattle and NY if I move with FB?
TC: SGD 173k.

Americans don’t realize this, but it’s not normal to have to own a shotgun to feel somewhat safe at your own home. It’s also not normal to have a school shooting every 14 days (this is related to the “raising a child” question you raised).
I’d be so happy to live in Singapore.
