Moving to India @ Salesforce

Will Salesforce allow to move to India 1 year after joining. Want to move to Delhi / Gurgoan / Mumbai Pune. I am planning to join Salesforce and move to India after a year. Will they allow moving after a year. Or should I directly move to India first. I am moving to India as both my parents are Cancer patient and they need me. Moving to Salesforce as they allow remote work and have better wlb which I need so I can manage my parents and job at same time. So should I join, work for 1 year and then move, if they allow, or move right now if they don't allow. Also should I inform/check this to hr or hiring manager.

I would bring it up, because almost absolutely your salary is going to change drastically once you are in India

Yes. I am ok with that.

It depends on the urgency. I would say family always comes first.

Dr is saying 1 year is fine. I was thinking to work for 1 year. Make a good impact and have good impression, then move. Also they might change the offer if I bring this now. But now I am concerned what if they don't allow to move to India just after a year.

I just wanted to say I wish you the best with your parents. You’re in a tough situation. My condolences

I admire your decision to be with your parents during their hard times instead of the standard practice of throwing money and visiting for 2 weeks to enquire their well being. Nothing comes close as being with them at times like these. Hats off.

Thanks for supporting my decision.

I wish your parents the best. As for the question at hand. Are you planning on continuing to stay long term? Or will you eventually plan on returning to where you are currently? You may be able to speak with your manager and arrange an altered schedule. I have a current coworker who has been out of country attending to their fiancé for roughly 6 months. They have returned periodically to attend to some things but for the most part has been there helping with medical care. They work early morning and late evenings to stay on a somewhat US time zone for overlap. Just a thought

Yes I plan to come back in future. This sounds like a perfect option but I hope they allow this for new employee.

My coworker has been with us for less than a year. I would just discuss it with your manager. Would probably also be a good indicator of how they will be down the road as well.

If you are joining at SMTS level, you should be allowed to work remotely from India I think. You can bring it up with your manager after 2-3 months of solid performance.

Yes have a offer for LMTS. So you think inform after joining not right away.

Better to discuss all the terms before joining, pretty much everything including the adjustment in compensation when moving..

Unlikely. Salesforce office is in Hyderabad as well. You can direct hire in to it specifically.

OP What did you end up doing?
