Moving to LA next month. My job is in Pasadena and I have a baby. Any recommendations on areas to look at? I don’t mind driving up to 30 mins to work, but want to live in an area where there’s something to do. Thanks!
Live in Pasadena. Why live anywhere else?

I think South Pasadena is a bit cheaper and has better schools (last time I looked).
Sierra Madre
Hancock Park. It's incredibly walkable, and family friendly.
And work in Pasadena? You'd spend an hour and a half in traffic each way.
Echo Park, Silver Lake, Hancock Park, Mid City, tons of options tbh. You can live pretty far west since you’ll be commuting opposite direction of traffic so you kinda have your pick.
Just live in Pasadena, it’s a great area
Pasadena
Stay in Pasadena..
Pasadena is great. What’s your budget? Ppl are suggesting places that are nearly all SFRs where rent is $5k...
Thanks guys! I was thinking of Pasadena myself. Good to know it’s a great area. Is it walkable at all? Are there any areas within Pasadena that you recommend? I’m new to LA so appreciate any help that I can get. Thanks!
Pasadena is so walkable that you will see homeless walk pass your house and you will smell urine on Colorado Blvd. that is how walkable it is.
Pasadena is awesome, and if you can live and work in the same awesome place, you can be extra awesome. Going to ADP?
Los Feliz/Silverlake is a great area for family.
Thanks!
Didn’t silverlake used to be a terrible area? I haven’t lived in LA in a long time though so I could be wrong
