I'm a senior at MSFT 6yo exp, got a L4 offer from Lyft claiming that one of the interviews was Luke warm. 180k base, 10k Rsu, 40k sign on. Take it or leave it? Only gain really is the paper money

Push hard on the RSUs. Your base is outside of the L4 band. Low L5 is around 150k base. You can probably get promoted pretty easily and get a 10-15% base bump.
Senior from msft should get l5+, do not settle on l4. L4 could be one year from college hire. Push higher level or decline.
Great offer for L4 especially base, but can ask L5. 6 years of experience can go either way depending on experience.
Has asking for a higher level ever worked for anyone? Everyone recommends asking, but I've never heard of anyone, even anecdotally, getting a level change after the initial offer.
