Why there is virtual onsite interview in C3 AI? Not the in-person onsite interview.

I was told during the interview with hiring manager that next step would be a coding assessment and Virtual onsite interview. As C3 AI doesn’t align with remote work, then why comp doesn’t accommodate or cover the expense to travel for onsite interview, like all companies used to do before Covid. On the other side, after going through all reviews, mostly “constructive” ones, I am thinking to skip this and prepared for other companies. Any feedback on this is welcome.

    Imagine how hard it is to hire people if they have to take time off work and fly across the country for interviews. Fine for one, now interview 6 places. It makes your life easier, it makes our life easier, and it's cheaper.

    If you are local, you can choose to do them in-person, and it is preferred.

    Even before COVID, C3 always did virtual on-site interviews unless you were local. Not all companies used to fly you out to interview.
