I'm currently interviewing with a bunch of companies, and ideally all offers would arrive at around the same time so I can compare them and get the companies to compete. However, in reality all companies work at a different pace and their hiring/interviewing practices vary, even within an individual company. How do I deal with several weeks between offers? How long is too long to leave a company hanging when they've presented an offer? What do I say to get them to extend the time that they're willing to wait if I don't want to tell them I'm waiting for better offers? Is it ok to decline an offer that that I accepted a couple weeks ago because I received a way better one? TC 200k (hopefully way more soon)
What offers did you receive? Can you add details of them. Employment is at will so you can go for a better one after you signed. Just don’t do it with all of them. I received offers in the past and then taken away
Nothing concrete yet, but I have 8 onsite/final interviews coming up. I only have 1 offer that I know of coming up from Electronic Arts that I don't know the details of yet. I'm assuming it'll be low, which is why I did them first for interview practice. But. if it's surprisingly decent I might have to accept it, and then possibly decline it if I get other offers. Not sure if that's bad practice.
It’s different for each company and how they will react. Some can blacklist you, some may not. If you don’t care about EA then you can definitely sign and reject if you get better opportunity. With better option you know you are not coming back to them. Companies will tell you it is bad practice because it is not in their interest. You should do what is best for you.
Just accept for time being and reject after you get a better offer. Standard practice in India.
Is it the same in the USA? I'm not sure since I've never had multiple offers at once before!
I don't know but i would give you a suggestion - if you have a friendly recruiter, just ask him/her the same qn. They should help you out.
You can reject offer saying timing is off for you and then go back to them later. This is better than accept and then reject
Just take them all.
