I have one failed startup under my belt (was the founder). after that I have been in the belly of a large company. I am treated well, get a large paycheck, have advanced my career significantly. I had told myself that I will get back to a startup and the years are slipping by. What advice will you give me to get out of my stupor? Any advice from people who took the step and how they did it?
Try listening to the How I Built This podcast. When I do that I realize how these successful business people aren't necessarily the most intelligent, well educated, will connected people. They are typically people who had an idea and took a risk. Also reading Zero to One by Peter Thiel is a good motivator.
Also read “founders at work” for some unusual stories and “hackers and painters” for some general tech advice that’ll be valid for a long long time
Same here, looks like we need a support group
+1
let’s have a support group? i went corp -> startup (not mine) -> corp and now i am in a “do it step by step and see “ mode. step 1: when someone good offered to cofound, i am scheduling time with them on a weekend (and rejecting my prior thought “this is not a right time”). so i am hoping to just bite a piece each week that way.
I'm sort of on the same boat.
