I was working at Amazon as L4 from past 2.5 years and this year was my last chance for h1. Last November my manager told me to start promo process but he was very slow in responding. Because of the very bad wlb, toxic culture and delay in promotion, decided to quit and find another job. Plan was to get multiple legitimate ( not consultancies!) offers and request them to file H1. Since it was last attempt for h1, most of the companies were not ready to interview me or canceled the interview process midway. But I still kept applying and was able to get offers from Walmart, Microsoft, Ethos, Vmware, LinkedIn, and 2 start-ups. H1 filed: Amazon, Vmware, Microsoft, and a start-up. Got H1 picked from start-up and Vmware. Decided to join Vmware. Still haven’t heard about the lottery results from Microsoft and Amazon. Amazon Old TC: 225k YOE: 2.5 years Vmware New TC: 301k
Congratulations 🎉
Wow, congratulations 👏🎉
you indian ?
I found out this year how people can file multiple H1b’s like that, had no clue before lmao
for companies that didn’t get picked will you be blacklisted ?
Congratulations! I know how painful that journey can be!
How did you get H1 filed from all of them? Accepted all the offers? Wow!
Yes. I know ethically it’s incorrect but I was in do or die situation. I had no any other option.
Yeah, I understand. No big deal but curious how you are going to handle the conversations next. :)
Why Amazon did not file H1b for you? Are you on PIP or Focus etc??
I see, this is how people do it. Smart move on using legitimate companies
Swe org at AWS?
