OP YOE ? If it’s about micromanaging, It’s a habit and you can’t do anything about it. You need to look around. But if it’s entirely about collaboration and being pro-active, talk to him/her about the same. Or you can be one driving, schedule two-three meetings per week to update, address concerns, exchange ideas and collaborate.
