My manager is leaving next month, and as their final act they decided to pip me last week. I went through an informal coaching plan, which we both agreed I completed verbally, but still got pipped. The document provides nitpicking evidence for why I'm underperforming. So there are of course 2 options, do improvement plan or just leave. I'm really unhappy at Amazon and I would like to just leave for my mental health and will also give me a break or even possibly do my own startup, I'm approaching 30 so time is running out to do a startup. But I know the logical thing would be to do the plan which will give me extra time and income to apply to as many jobs as possible, there is also a new manager so that might be better.
But to emphasise I am really unhappy at Amazon not really interested in the work I'm doing as well. First place I've ever worked at that I've felt I'm looking over my shoulder constantly to see if I'm going to be fired. Really feel miserable here.

Most successful startups are by founders over the age of 40. You just don’t hear about them as often because people like to talk about young founders.
