Sourcegraph is trying to make Codesearch which is my #1 favorite thing about the Google dev ecosystem. If they or anybody can make something remotely close to codesearch, it will be a game changer. (Spoiler: I don't think it's easy to make codesearch.)
Maybe a silly question, but if codesearch exists already, what competitive advantage would Sourcegraph be? I guess, why would it be a game changer if google has done it already? Thanks!
Google has it but only for the Google codebase (heavily integrated with our Piper system AFAIK), so not easy for Google to sell it.
They have a weird interview debrief where it only takes one person on the panel to not be a strong-hire and you will be rejected. Seems incredibly political and not worth it
Ya seems like a weird interview process based on other things I’ve heard. Is the technology itself disruptor and cutting edge.. sounds like there’s some competition out there
If GitHub implements better search they are toast
