I am a non resident alien residing in CA. I am looking to start a new online savings account but unfortunately all.of the ones that I looked into wanted me to be a citizen or a permanent resident. Are there any banks out there that accept non resident aliens?
Yeah incorrect. You can open most savings accounts online without being citizen or permanent resident. But you may need to provide SSN which I hope you already have since you are employed.
Yes, I have an SSN. But all the high yield online banks requires me to be a permanent resident or a citizen. Can you suggest a bank that doesn't have this requirement?
Try discover online savings. It's giving 2.1% now and don't need to be citizen or permanent resident
