Currently interviewing with Google. I scheduled my phone interview at 9pm which makes my interviewer from outside APAC region. I felt I got a easy question.
My recruiter told me that now i can only schedule interview in local timezone only 9am to 6pm only.
Somehow i felt that my recruiter knew i got too easy question and indirectly made me to schedule with interviewers from APAC region so I get harder questions ?
I just feel that way. I may be wrong. Asking Googlers who are in interview process that interviewing policy changed ??

Maybe its because of current interviewer pool availability?
1. Recruiters gain nothing by making your interview process difficult, in fact, they lose potential candidates.
2. Team match is after you clear interviews, so it almost never happens that your upcoming team member takes your interview.
You're overthinking this OP.
Ask the recruiter for the reason why timings are 9-6, and if it's possible to schedule at 9 PM. Tell them you are able to better concentrate at that time, and it would increase your confidence level. Be open with recruiters.
And those of you that think that Indian interviewers ask difficult questions, that not a good generalization to make.
If you ask for interviews late at night, you might get an interviewer who has a different accent than yours, and it would be difficult for you to make each understand your logic, sometimes even simple statements would be misunderstood.
