Currently work at a small investment firm. Less than 200 people. Been working as a Business Analyst that wears many hats for past 4 years. Various investment ops roles before that (developed good business acumen). So the last 4 years has involved building data dashboard solutions from scratch (Power BI), involved in building a 'low code' data pipeline solution (similar to Microsoft SSIS), helping people with SQL and Power Query spreadsheets, and then mentoring people on how to use these things. Also because we're resource constrained, I end up being the business user on many of these tools as well. Stretched really thin. Really interested in the data analysis side of things and more 'full code / high code' data engineering. Since I wear many hats now (data engineer, analyst, scientist/presenter?, business user) I don't know how to best brand myself. I'm not experienced with ML at all. I'm intermediate at SQL (preferring T-SQL). I'm beginner to intermediate at best with Python and Jupyter. Really want a more dedicated data analytics focused role but I'm happy to help out wherever. Of course WLB is important. Thinking a fintech, or data role anywhere that interfaces with finance and marketing might work best. Do I have a chance at FAANG? Stick to small companies? Looking to improve on TC if possible, maybe 200K at least. YOE: 11 TC: 145K #dataanalytics #datascience #fintech #faang #businessanalyst
