Hello Everyone, I am posting from a friend’s account since I forgot to create a blind account during my internship. So I have the following offers in hardware orgs (similar roles):
Note: I am a NCG, 0 YoE.
NVIDIA Santa Clara
Base: $140,000
RSUs: $104,000 (vest in 4 years)
Sign-on: $15,000
Apple Austin
Base: $120,000
RSUs: $80,000 (vest in 4 years)
Sign-on: $20,000
Apple waited for NVIDIA’s offer before making their offer. I have following questions:
1. How do I negotiate? What do you guys think about the TC? Is Apple lowballing, considering CoL and tax difference?
2. Which company would be better for overall growth (Learning and TC)? Will location play any role in that? (To be noted that Apple’s team is HQ in Austin).
3. I heard that in Apple, overtime is optional but top performers usually do about 5 hrs of overtime per week and the pay is 1.5x the usual. What’s your experience regarding this? Does it go much more? What about WLB?
Thank you for the help, I really appreciate it!
