i was dumb when younger and wasted a lot of money 🥺 my parents are broke and don't know much about personal finance currently i use my money like this: 140K home equity (20% down for sfh in bay area) 30K high interest savings 14k checking account 45K in 401K 25K index funds (vtsax vfiax) 52K vested amazon RSU 5K spy500 TC 210K age 26 i have a spending problem with ubereats , designer clothes , and online shopping :( what would you do for the next 5-10 years if you were me?
work harder -> get higher TC -> problem solved
Yup, that’s why I’m going to grind my ass off for the first half of my life so I can enjoy the second half of my life as much as possible
That doesn’t sound like EVERY moment
Doesn't seem like you've done nearly as poorly as you think. Plenty of youngsters are 100ks in debt.
Not too bad. I’ve seen worse. You already know what you need to cut down on. Just ask yourself do I need this or do I want this.
What is your yoe? At that comp you should be maxing your 401k. I’m assuming amazon has a decent match. I put in almost 35k annually pretax with my company’s match
Is this some sort of humble brag? At 26 ur net worth is ~300k and u r complaining?
Sell Amazon RSUs put it in Index funds Buy more index funds from your high interest saving account money. Consolidate spy500 to vifax Put about 25% money in VBLTX (bonds)
This seems like a humble brag to me. Sure, it’s not the best but having a 6 figure net worth in mid 20’s isn’t an issue. I assume your original intent was to point out your spending habits.
You’re still young, friend. No worry
How much you wasted when u were younger?
Years of constant uber and now constant food delivery + online shopping + luxury car and designer clothes in the past Prob down 100K
100k doesn’t seem like a lot if your TC is 200k. As long as you’re saving for retirement and have enough for planned future cash flow (like your mortgage, or having kids) then just enjoy life. No point in dying with 10 million dollars in your portfolio, not having enjoyed your 20s/30s/40s.
