Joined Citrix, Fort Lauderdale office a couple of months ago, not enjoying legacy stuff and planning to leave for better brand, culture is good Microsoft SWE I L60 Redmond, WA Base: 135k RSUs: 22K per year Sign-on: 23k (first year only) Performance Bonus: 13.5k TC: 193.5k first year, 170.5k second onwards Interviewed for SWE II L61/L62 at Microsoft but got L60, negotiated fiercely to get to above numbers. Cohesity MTS3 Bay area, CA Base: 145k RSUs : 55k per year (as per secondary market) TC: 200k for 4 years There is a IPO risk here 55k is as per secondary market, also I heard culture is not good at Cohesity, very fast paced. I am slightly inclined towards Microsoft due to the culture and other benefits, also the team suites very well to my profile. Is it worth compromising on dollars to join Microsoft, since from second year onwards my pay would be 20-30k lesser than my current TC and other offer. Please advise YOE: 4yrs Current TC: 200k #microsoft #salaries #salarycomparison #cohesity #citrix
You're going from 200K in Florida to ~180k in Redmond? I think that decreases your TC by a lot.
Both your offers are a downgrade from your current tc, not worth the move.
I am moving because I don't like the work and the location, I have been on my current TC for 2-3 months. How about Cohesity buddy, Rubrik/Cohesity kinda siblings, are there going public anytime soon
They will go public but that TC is low.
Cohesity’s stocks have a lot of upside. How many units are you getting? You can likely negotiate on the units. IPO is all but guaranteed and a matter of when not if. Also the culture complains are overblown on the internet, especially non issue for Bay Area.
What do you mean by a lot? Our space is heavily saturated.
I got 9k units for 4 yrs
You are being lowballed by Msft. Equity grant can go as high as 50k. Ask them to FO or give you better offer !
Yeah, I negotiated twice, they increased the base, but not the equity. the base is on the higher side for L60 I guess, this is the final offer. Very rude recruiter, he said, this is maximum they could do else they offer to someone else, lot of people in the pipeline. Is the 10% performance bonus guaranteed from the range (0-20%)?
Recruiter is jealous of you cut them some slack 🤣 Jokes aside. This isn’t a good offer by any means. Don’t settle for less. Keep interviewing. As a new grad I was given equity of 130k over 3.5 yrs in 2019.
