Need University suggestions for MS in CS (USA)
I am currently an SDE at Amazon in India. And planning to pursue masters in computer science next year. Had a difficult time selecting universities. I am planning to join FAANG after masters in USA. Can you please suggest me some universities which have good career opportunities? Thanks in advance. :-)
Stanford, Princeton, MİT, Carnegie Mellon, Cornell, Berkeley,.... Georgia tech, UW, SJSU also do well in tech companies.
The right question is, will you be lucky to get the H1B?
All the answers look good, but do you want to do MS just to join FAANG in US. Wait for an internal relocation through Amazon, you would anyways meet your goal
Yes. But considering the number of rejections these days, i think ms is the best route.
I think visa wise you have more choices than just h1b when transfering.
UT Dallas
Purdue University attracts the most number of international students among all US universities. Unlike other universities, they have not increased tuition for last 8 years. It's in a low cost of living area, and all the big tech companies recruit from there. Purdue is the most value for money engineering college in USA.
I am also leaving Microsoft for Masters. But I am not a SDE, and I joined Microsoft this year from college. If I was in your place, I won't be doing Masters. Instead, I would have tried to switch to Microsoft, since it is easier to network inside Microsoft, plus your TC will significantly jump.
I went to NYU tandon, best decision ever. Easy to get into and I get calls from all major companies because they think NYU is a great University.
