Software Engineer with ~4.5 years of experience.
Currently In 4th company because I stayed for 5months at one of the company and that is my major concern. It's an unknown company with 400 strength.

Within two months of joining I put my papers but they made me serve full 3months notice period.
Leaving that company was good decision because 5 months after leaving they laid off my whole team due to Covid.

Should I remove that company from my profile? Like resume and LinkedIn profile?
I didn't learned anything there apart from little bit of django.
Will keeping it in my profile give bad impression about me to some of the good companies and recruiters?
I am not running after money but the quality of work and glad I found it in my current organisation.

Please let me know your thoughts on that.

I had something similar and I took it off my resume and LinkedIn. Only difference is that was my first job out of school so there wasn’t a “job gap” to explain. You can always still have Django on your resume. No one is gonna quiz you on where exactly you learnt your skills.

For your situation, perhaps just leave it so you don’t have to explain a job gap. And just tell them it wasn’t a good fit for your career so you decided to move on.

When I look at my LinkedIn profile I don't feel good and I myself think, wow what a job hopper he is 😂

  • But you still switched 3 companies in 4 years. Try to stay for a longer term at your next stint. All the best!
