I am in a situation where I have no idea what should I do next! I am developer and have 8 years exp. My work has been mostly on clouds technologies (Salesforce,AWS, Heroku). I think my growth is stagnant now but want to grow more. Any suggestions on what should I do next? Here are few things I am thinking: 1. MBA and try to be a TPM 2. Certifications for architect and try to be a solution architect 3. Learn new language (python, mobile development or some ML stuff) and try for Sr. SDE 4. Just chillax and become more lazy! Any suggestions will be helpful.
Do you like managing people more and doing less technical stuff. Want to see a hefty increase in salary but also have more direct responsibility if shit hits the fan - go MBA Do you want to stay technical but want higher pay and more tech responsibility - go Sr. SDE If money is not a concern (or you are not feeling greedy for more) and you are happy where you then chill If you want to a hybrid between the previous 3 options go architect
non technical staff in silicon valley are second tier citizens. Someone with 8 yoe can easily get 400k plus tc at a fang. MBA people, unless you're like a Pm or something, get half of that. If you're in technical role, I would advise you to stay in technical as wlb and pay is better. Wasting 2 years in MBA paying 200k and opportunity cost is a shitty proposition
Is 400 tc specific to a domain or in general?
Buy a Sportsmobile van and travel the country, interviewing people as you go
That’s totally sounds like an Uber employee!!! 😂😂
He was the bar raiser at Uber because he loves to travel
If you're a sr and have AWS experience, DM me. We're hiring and doing interesting things.
More of Salesforce less of AWS and Heroku
Learn infosec or security engineering
Put all your energy on Leetcode and System design.
For SDEs? Is 8 year exp still good to be SDE?
How come not senior with 8
