Currently a senior manager in a big 4 TS team specializing in valuation and analytics (sector agnostic - with some exposure to SaaS). Looking to transition into tech in a strat finance role (or other similar names they use). Confident in my hard skills (complex financial models in excel, python, visualization tools) and have good soft skills from working with various client management teams.
Looking for advice on breaking into tech - ideally growth stage but looks like they prefer prior experience in tech. Would it be easier if I go through a finance stint at big tech first? What's the best approach to recruit for those roles?
Edit:
Current TC = 200K base + ~20% bonus
YOE = 8 years
TIA! 🙏

@OP - check out some folks that did this move. It's possible to cross check people on LinkedIn by looking up past AND previous company. You'll see some folks that did the switch... there is a guy in france right now that did this move pwc-->amzn... let me know if you're having trouble finding him.
