Hi, I have an offer from Deloitte which is lower than I expected. The role is great. Also got an offer from BOA which is higher. I want Deloitte to match the BOA offer and negotiate the salary. Questions- Will Deloitte want to see the actual offer email/letter? If yes, in what form do I send the BOA offer to Deloitte? Will Deloitte actually talk to BOA and jeopardize my chances of accepting BOA offer incase they are not willing to match it? Any insights from #recruiters are appreciated. Thanks #negotiateoffer #offer #recruiting
Op- I’ve heard of some recruiters asking for actual proof of competing offers on Blind, but in my experience I’ve not had this happen. Not to mention, most recruiters will only keep the offer verbal until you accept.
Both the offers are verbal at this point. Does that mean that I will not get anything in an email or writing unless I accept it? Haven't interviewed in a decade so don't know ;)
Yes, most likely won’t get anything written until acceptance.
Im not a recruiter here, but I would negotiate and say you have multiple offers but are wanting to join Deloitte. They may come back with slightly less but it still may be enough to go with Deloitte if that’s what you want
Also- in my experience nobody has ever asked me for copy of offer letter
Thanks for letting me know. I'll talk to them tomorrow.
dont join bofa. horrible place to end your career.

Conspiracy theory: Sundar wants to make India great again
was just watching some tips about this. if you come back to deloitte asking them to match you lose your leverage because they’ll instantly know you want them more than BOA. rather than doing that, try to continue to negotiate without showing them your whole hand. have you already given a number or a range?
Disagree. A company has no way of knowing if they’re your preference just because you ask to match a competing offer. It just means they got an offer from another company first. If anything, it means the company has lost its leverage because you now know they want to hire you, but another company is willing to pay higher.
I just got both the offers and told both I'll get back to them. Haven't shared any numbers with Deloitte yet.
