Need referral

I am a Chem Tech undergrad (India) with MBA (US). Have 3 years exp before MBA in India and 6.5 years post MBA in US (1yr Business Analyst intern, 4.5yrs in Pricing & last 1yr as Sr. Financial Analyst). All my experience had been in non-tech companies. I want to get into Microsoft or any of the FAANG companies primarily because these companies are prime companies currently and secondarily for a lucrative pay. Can someone from these companies advice best approach to get an interview call? Do I need to know technical stuff (coding, etc.) even for a finance job? Is there something specific I need to add on my resume to get the interview call? Any advice is very helpful. Thanks!

Referrals works great for getting a foot in the door for FANG companies. Try to get em for the recruiters to notice you. Don't think knowing coding will help you more than knowing how these different companies make money (business models) and what are the challenges/competition they struggle with. Best of luck!

Thanks!

Also, be super aggressive to get recruiter attention (if no referral). InMail/email/show up in person and take em out for coffee. Do whatever it takes to get foot in door - ahead of that, it's all your game.

Primarily because these companies are prime companies. WTF is that?

Amazon has Prime. No one else.

Just for you info— the lucrative pay you talk about is only if you are a software engineer or anything related to tech or a Product manager. Others don’t get the lucrative pay you are hoping for. And the pay high for the engineers purely because of the highly competitive market.

This guy gets it.

Ya if you're going into finance, don't expect lucrative pay at FAANG. You may have better luck looking towards wall street.

Just go to some professional events. Talk to people. Don't be a dick. Companies give referral bonuses, so I want to refer people. But I need enough of a connection that it is not going to embarrass me.
