Needs suggestions: Meta E4 vs Google L4

Hi everyone,

I'm currently trying to land a new job, and luckily got 2 offers as the title suggest. However, I found myself cannot make a clear decision based on my own information. So inputs from your guys would be greatly appreciated.

Meta MLE
Base: 180k
Equity: 450k
Target bonus: 15%
Signon: 75k
TC: 319k (excluding signon)

Google SDE
Base: 167k
Equity: 400k (33-33-22-12)
Target bonus: 15%
Signon: 75k
first 2yr TC: 325k (excluding signon)

I was lucky to secure a decent offer before Meta hiring freeze. But I also heard a lot about the bad WLB and metrics-oriented work at Meta. I'm a little worried about finding the right team in bootcamp because I have very little experience.

Because of the meta offer, I was able to push my recruiter at Google to extend me an offer before team matching. So to get "officially" final offer, I need to go through the team match process. Otherwise, the offer is not secure? I did hear from my recruiter that my PA alignment would be Youtube, but there is no guarantee about the team matching result.

YOE: 1yr

Just got my PhD degree last year. So I am still quite junior. I would like to find place to improve my technical skills as well as other soft skills, such as communication, team working, project management, etc. I don't like working in a high pressure environment.

The meta offer is approaching its deadline. So I have to make a decision soon. Any suggestions? Thanks

Edit: I need immigration sponsorship. Is the PERM audit better now at Meta? Should I worry about it?

Edit2: added a poll

If you can join Meta next month after the earnings plummet, you can get RSUs for cheap (vs ATHs at Google). Otherwise you’ll be fine with either

With your early stage career, Meta is a much better choice if you’re looking to learn and build. Google is good for late stage employees and the company is too large for most people to get any meaningful work.

@SoyClaus Thanks for your comment. Do you mean in Meta everything is moving fast so more opportunities for juniors? My current company has a similar style, but sometimes I feel it's too much deadline-driven.

Currently interviewing for L4 with 1 YoE, no degree, bootcamp grad so it seems to just depend on recruiter.

I was in a similar position a few months ago. IMO offers should be considered equal. Where do you want to work more? I figured I’d never pass the google interview again…

I'm more inclined to Google cause I value WLB more. I really missed that in my current company.
