Negotiating Amazon offer

Is it possible to raise Amazon offer based on my current TC at Microsoft? I am well paid at MS. My current TC is 210k not including the benefits. I still don't have the offer numbers but I would want to get a 10-15% increase. Something around 250-260k. Is this possible for SDE2 role ? I have 3yoe + higher education degree in my field. What are your tips for negotiations? So far I do not have a competing offer.

That’s a 20% hike and not 10%-15% hike. At least, do the math properly.

Ask for it. If they don't give a shit, you don't give a shit.

Is this for Seattle? Sounds very doable for Bay Area, not sure about Seattle.

It's completely depend on hiring manager and HR. It will be harder without competing offer but not impossible. Just ask for it. (We don't care your current compensation.)

Why don't you care about the current compensation? Does Amazon HR really offer TC greater than 50tp of the level/job family that the candidate is going to join, my themselves (since the candidate need to be better than 50% of the amazon employees at that level) ?

Don't leave for amzn unless you are getting a decent pay bump. You'll most likely work harder and merit + benefits are very stingy.

By decent how much you mean? In term of percentages

When I moved from msft it was +20%.
