Negotiating salary after accepting an offer

I accepted an offer from Bloomberg a few months back. I was not aware of nyc taxes, cost of living and TC offered by other companies at that time.

How can I ask them to increase salary? Is there any risk of rescinding the offer?

Also, should I prefer audible data engineer over Bloomberg sde?

It’s really unethical after accepting offer. You can though request but it will be tricky...ready to walk out and burn bridges.

SDE profile is generally better than DE though exceptions applied.

  • I have been offered 135k + 15k + 10k.
Is that not enough to live comfortably? I assumed it would be.

What are the unexpected costs you found?

Maybe you should have done your research. That's a you problem and unlikely that they'll budge unless you're exceptional.

You have only an option to renege offer. Otherwise there is a risk to be blacklisted.
