Negotiation with manager for salary hike didn’t go well

I joined Adobe few years back. My asked compensation was not provided and I ended up accept the offer anyway. Now I feel like I am being paid a lot less than recent grads offers at tech company. I had a conversation with my manager and he mentioned that I am being paid the market price, but checking on levels fyi and other sites, it shows otherwise.

What’s my best option ? Should I switch to another company or switches roles within my company ? If I leave the company now, I would loose all my 1st year stock cliff RSU.

Switch companies. Been in that situation before and now during tech. Only way to improve is by switching. It’s not just for TC, it’s for the mentality. They don’t value you now, and won’t later unless you rubberband in future with more clout.

It's usually helpful to provide TC and YOE so we can actually determine if you are underpaid.

No one could answer your questions based on the information provided. Interview with a few companies, compare the offers, make a choice. Never underestimate the value of expanding your skills, experience, and sense of well-being. Never make a career decision based on salary alone.

TC? Have you been through an end of year performance review yet?

I got promoted a year back and still the Tc is way less than what a new grad makes. They got me in for a really low tc and annual salary increase is 4%. It’s not getting me anywhere

Makes sense. Seems like your manager doesn't value you and isn't even putting in the basic effort so definitely try passively or actively looking.

Irregardless, I think that even if things were going well, it's a good idea to keep up with the market.
