Recruiter asked for compensation expectations. Software engineer , 3.5 years in bay area, masters degree in computer science. Really confused about what should I tell him. Any help appreciated !
My current salary has pre ipo options which are worth nothing till the company goes ipo. Also, its way less than what I expect these big companies offer. Any idea about how many rsu’s are a decent number at my level
Assuming L4 at Google, your base should be above 131k and your RSU should be > 190.
Don't disclose your current salary, but shoot for at least 20% increase
How could you not disclose? Google usually sends out a doc which you have to fill out salary info and references(with the nda). Those fields are mandatory. How to get past that by not disclosing the salary?
It will soon be illegal to ask for salary in California. I doubt the recruiter will dare challenging that. Just leave that empty.
