I’m thinking of accepting a 6 month contract at Netflix. The hiring manager said he’s hoping to convert that position to FTE in 6 months. What’s the conversion process like? Is it like Google where you have to apply pretty much like an outsider, or is it easier?
I didn’t realize Netflix used contractors. I thought it was everyone being senior SWEs.
Who is your contacting company?
Isn't it easier to interview and getr a job, than work your ass to impress your manager and hope for a conversion?
At Google, you have to go through the entire process as an outsider and your manager doesn’t really have a say in the process as there are hiring committees involved. I’m wondering if Netflix has the same process.
Isn't that a good thing? Your chances are less likely to be affected by your manager not looking you. Netflix is team based, so unlikely
Netflix has contractors?
There are no dictated processes at Netflix. Depends on your manager and your position. I started as a contractor myself and got converted directly without any interviews.
