I got approached by a hiring manager about becoming Sr Security “Partner.” On the call, manager said it’s like a dev that interfaces with other teams and communicates between them (get requirements, floats solutions, some advocacy), but can also write at least a POC on most projects. So like a PM/SWE. I’m not particularly keen on learning PM just for this, the probable extra meetings, and not improving as quickly in SWE role... but it’s Netflix. Their sec team is beastly Anyone know what that job’s like at Netflix? TC comparable to SWE? What’s their day to day and percents on how the split between PM and SWE is? Sort of seems like a way to get around the Netflix-only-hires-Sr-SWEs rule when there’s a big Security talent gap TC:200k YOE:2.5
