I’m actually surprised that Netflix has now begun hiring people with 2+ YoE, which wasn’t the case until about a year ago. Some of these new analytics roles I came across are really awesome! Does blind have Netflix employees? I’d be super grateful if someone can refer me to these positions :) YoE : 2 ( US Internship 3 months) TC: 40k (Shit)
Which roles are you referring to op? Senior Data scientist roles?
I wish :/ Netflix seems to categorize most analytical roles under Associate title.
You do know that Netflix’s whole policy is to only refer people they know right lmao
I’m willing to strike up a conversation with the person who refers me 🤣 I guess that should count as them knowing me.. technically
What is there to be done at Netflix? . They have great infrastructure and tooling already built and they have one product. Apart from app development, I'm not sure what there's anything challenging to be done at Netflix. Hence kids are being hired.
I’m actually inclined to agree with you, but one of the reasons why I’d like to check out Netflix is the fact that it offers exposure into how a tech/media company actually works. Also learning curve and TC.
Streaming side is a mature product at this point but building a globally distributed, technology driven studio is still early days
Now that you mention it, I've never seen anyone with Netflix flair. What's up with that? Maybe they're busy being good employees and doing work. 🤔
No one will refer a candidate that they can’t personally attest to - it goes against our culture -specifically around good judgment. Apply on the site. If you are qualified and the hiring manager is interested in you, they will reach out. I was hired from me submitting my resume online. I hired most of my team that same way as well. So, it does happen and with far more frequency than people seem to want to accept.
How soon does this turnaround happen? One submitting the resume and an introductory email being sent? I applied more than 2 weeks ago and never received a reply. Need some closure...
You may never get closure. It’s not feasible to respond to every applicant. If you are right for the role, they will reach out. If not, chances are they won’t reach out. There’s no deadline for determining if a candidate is ideal. Each manage works at their own pace based on their needs and timelines. If impatience is a characteristic of yours, I don’t recommend Netflix, FYI.
Thanks for the tip OP
Haha! No problem! :)
