TC: 200k I wonder if I can get to read some words from the horse' mouths. Disney pays competitive to Netflix by any chance?. Looking forward if yes. https://www.forbes.com/sites/stephenmcbride1/2019/05/21/netflix-has-175-days-left-to-pull-off-a-miracle-or-its-all-over/

1 less FANG to try
Meh article. Disney won't disrupt shit. Netflix focuses on TV show content. Disney will not disrupt that much at all.
Why won’t people simply subscribe to both if each service has good content?
That’s exactly what they will do. Only Netflix will have more subscribers because of better content.
Back in 2015, Disney laid off 250 tech workers, and refused to offer severance unless they trained the Indian contractors that would replace them. I wouldn’t work there.
Disney pays shit. They won't compete for talent at Netflix level. Disney catalog is good but how many times can you watch a movie. Kids obviously mindlessly rewatch the same toons, but they can also do that on Netflix. And so what that they're getting some minor Avenger actors to do their own shows on Marvel. Look how crappy the Marvel shows have been on ABC. It honestly won't get better than that, in ScyFy Channel "C level" sfx. And "The Mandalorian" will likely suck as Disney/Lucas haven't made a decent Star Wars universe movie since the original 3. Disney+ will definitely be a minor player. I foresee the HBO effect where people will sign up for 2-3 months to binge watch GOT and then decouple. Did you know that new subs for GOT that nearly 100% cancel HBO before 6 months? People don't want to watch old movies, only new epic content, of which Disney won't be able to do.
mind sharing where you got “new subs for GOT that nearly 100% cancel HBO before 6 months? “
I think it was CNBC or one of the other business news sites that recentlywrote about it. After S7 of GOT, HBO couldn't retain any of those new subs after 6 months of the it's airing.
Pretty interesting pricing point. I think we will see some midterm losses from Disney. They essentially will be giving previous content that people paid for at a much higher discount (rentals, vault content which had to be purchased, and the Netflix deals) which was probably worth much more then a customer's LTV. The beauty of Netflix is on their platform Disney content is certainly worth $6 a month, but off their platform it's probably worth significantly less.
Yea it’s Disney. Of the studios, they pay the worst no matter what division you’re in
Netflix entry price for 4K/HDR content: $15.99 Disney+ entry price for 4K/HDR content: $6.99 Good luck to Netflix, they’ll need it.
