How is work life at Netflix? I mean working late getting shit done is all good.
What I found weird in the culture deck was "we all answer emails on vacation". Is there pressure to work from vacation? Do you get out as average performance if you don't do that?

As for work life balance, it's the best place I know of. It is up to you to manage it. For example, before I had kids, I was working from 10-11am to 7pm and there was almost nobody in the office when I left. Now that I have a family, I'm 9-10am to 5-6pm, like most engineers here.
I take at least 4-6 weeks vacations per year, and do not check my emails during that time. In case of emergency, my team can page me, but it's up to me to architect stable and well documented systems to reduce the chance of that happening.
