New Grad Dilemma: What would you do?

Hello, I would like some feedback on the situation I am in. Long story but my job search was stymied during school. Currently, I have a non-FAANG exploding offer on hand while ramping up other efforts. Background: I am a recent B.S. grad from a top ten engineering school. Over the past 4-5 years, I have heavily involved, participating in, consulting for and founding numerous startups in both technical and business settings. I am confident I could get into a FAANG... What I'm looking for in the next 2-4 years: 1) Pursuing an MBA: I am very entrepreneurially minded. Furthermore, my passion, drive, and key-value prop. comes from tech. meets business hence I want to pursue an MBA from Harvard, Stanford, etc. (hence compensation concerns) 2) Gaining Exposure: Like every other engineer, I am a problem solver at heart. I don't just want to use my Big Data skills for analyses but to catalyze AI/ML solutions or other actionables. (from discussions seems like the non-FAANG opp. is worthy) My questions: 1) Is this a good offer? I am having trouble comparing it to a FAANG offer. COL calcs. are all over and Dallas seems to have low salaries with low-medium COL (on paper). 2) What would you do? Offer on hand: 97 TC (12 up in the air) in Dallas, TX I know there is no right answer to these questions... looking for personal thoughts : ) Thanks! #newgrad #newgradsalary #dallas #faang

You'll be more than fine with 100k in Dallas.

While the salary it self is not bad, exploding offer indicate poor company culture and a lack of check & balance. Culture matters and can screw over your future plans. If you are confident that you will secure one of the other jobs you are interviewing for, I would suggest to either drop this offer together (for making an exploding offer), or do a cost-benefit on accepting it for now, and dumping it if/when you get a faang offer.

Thanks! Unfortunately, the timeline won't match up in any meaningful way... start date is soon (exploding offer is the norm for this company regardless)

Accept, later you can deny anytime when you have a better option

Your at the tail end of FAANG new grad recruiting timeline, if you're confident you could get in why didn't you apply 4 months ago? My point is that at this juncture it seems like the safe option is to take the offer you have. Whatever reason you had for not going for the FAANG job 4 months ago was, has that changed in such a meaningful way that you'd throw away the offer you have in hand? Just some food for thought, happy new years !

Thanks! My thoughts align with yours... things have changed but the timeline concerns are most concerning.
