I recently got an offer from Microsoft for a SDE position with 110k base, 15k signing bonus and 70k stock. I was wondering if anyone can provide some insight into whether this is a good offer or I should push for a higher bonus/rsu? I know that Microsoft generally doesn't budge on base salary. I have about a year of internship experience, no competing offers however, there is a possibility of conversion from intern to full time at my current company. Would also appreciate any tips on negotiating with the recruiter. Thanks!
Hmmm I recently got a 110k/30k/120k offer. Are you sure you got the standard new grad offer?
This is a standard but lowest bound new grad offer. You need some leverage to negotiate.
Thanks!
Second that. It's lowest standard offer they handed out to interns who converted to FTE.
The base is usually non negotiable. You could ask for 25-30k joining bonus and 120-150 stocks. They will get back with 20k joining and 120k stocks.
Thanks!
Update: was able to negotiate the comp to 110k base, 40k signing, 120k stock
awesome, after the interview, in how many days did they present the interview & what did you say for them to increase the stocks n bonus
Congrats on your offer! Looks like a typical level 59 offer. MS doesn’t negotiate if you don’t have a competing offer. Tell your internship company about the MS offer and see if they can decide soon on an offer for you
