Asking for a friend. She has a hard time deciding between the SWE New Grad position at Google Ads and Apple Siri Rotational program. She has a background in machine learning and would love to work on projects with a blend of software engineering and applied machine learning. Total compensation for each. Google: 125K/115K/50K Apple: 135K/150K/50K Any advice or suggestion is truly appreciated. Thanks!!!
Show Apple's offer to Google's recruiter and tell him to match it
She tried but google asks to see compete offer letter (google’s number already has gone through comp team). Is this typical? From my own experience two months ago, a verbal compete offer was enough, not sure if anything changes or if it’s just the recruiter’s technique. Apple wouldn’t give offer letter unless she verbally accepts it, so the situation is a bit awkward...
I would pick apple at equal comp, and would definitely pick apple at higher comp.
Its a rotational program, U might not stay in the same team. Even though considering the benefits and WLB google is a very good option.
Google offers are typically higher than what your friend got, apple offers are much lower. Food for thought
Whichever one has more ML, since that’s her interest.
Does she want food for thought or food for free?
What are the refreshers like at Apple? Also, lateral movement is easy here
Can you please share the interview process for Apple Siri Rotational Program?
Did you figure it out bro? Please help

Siri sounds more relevant and suited to interests. Tc also better. Can’t go wrong in the choice though .
