New Green Card Policy?

Have been hearing a lot in the news lately about Trump's new policy to conduct interviews for all employment based sponsorship. How accurate is this? I just started my application and am worried that it will take forever to get a GC now.

Case by case basis

I thought that used to be the case and his rule is making it mandatory

Nope

Huh. I know a lot of people who were interviewed over the years so i guess nothing really changed under trump then

Wrong

Dude, I am currently working without GC or citizenship

Amazon kider9d Aug 29, 2017

Citizenship requires an interview. Visas do too, but not GC. However, so much for his policy cutting down on govt. and processes.

Being married to a citizen isn't enough anymore so my husband could very easily not renew his GC under the new rules

Yeah, bullshit laws

Say more. Everything I've read says citizens can still sponsor spouses under RAISE.

Afaik here are the changes : Employment based GC : you will now need mandatory interview even if you had EB1 extraordinary ability sponsor to prove that you are extraordinary- (this is the same GC used by Justin Bieber so I really don't know how they enforce this) EB2 (5 yrs experienced dev or masters Degree plus 3yrs) - this category would waive interview if you already interviewed for H1B multiple times for same company - that waiver is going to be removed forcing you to show up to local USCIS. Marriage based GC : you always to need interview when you get fiancé/ first 2 year conditional residency - but now onward on the 2nd year they will add 2nd interview. Relative sponsorship is going to be completely overhauled (aka Anchor baby rule) - this would make it very difficult for bringing in your relatives after you secure PR/citizenship and they are going to add roadblocks on claiming govt assistance like Social Security Medicare for sponsored folk
