Saw a post where new Uber office announced in Chicago. The article talked about Uber adding 2k jobs in Chicago. Mainly uber freight and uber eats. With the recent layoffs, that seems to send a mixed message. What's going on?
They are more ops jobs. Though I would not be surprised if they had a few eng roles too
They want to sack them all and get guiness record for biggest layoff
Freight is growing fast, margin accretive, getting a lot of investment within Uber. Neither of the recent layoffs have affected freight, will continue to hire a lot of people. Chicago will have engineering and product roles, they’ve already hired their first eng and product teams.
What kind of TC are L4s getting there?
I’m looking to join. I have an engineering and product background plus worked for a top global freight company then did my own startup around cargo mix. Would love to learn more. Please drop me a DM
95k base for L4 ops
Aren’t Uber freight and Uber eats profitable?
that's what I heard lately. But I honestly don't know much. It will be great to have some answers from knowledgeable folks about here.
Lol no.. Uber eats is the most loss making
