New grad SWE jobs no LeetCode?

What are the best companies to apply for who offer software engineering roles for new grads? Also, I was wanting the companies to not have super hard LeetCode style coding interviews. My coding skills are pretty decent, but sometimes I just have a really hard time doing HackerRank stuff where I’m timed. I will blank out sometimes for no reason. #engineering #software #swe

Will you also blank out in stakeholder meetings? Talking with random SWEs should be the least of your concerns. Live coding is hard but defending your technical design in front of a panel and telling Sr people to f*ck off is way harder if you blank out. Not only you but also your teammates and manager depends on your performance 😔 If you are looking for a job with little impact and only code-no talk, middle sized companies that treats IT as cost center is what you are looking for… any random firm has an IT department which you can apply for but blind would not be the right forum to ask.

Woah OK no that’s not what I’m looking for at all. Low blow there lmao.

No low blow, if you feel uncomfortable presenting your thought process & blank out when it comes to problem solving under pressure… thats an issue and there are ways to mitigate it. In a nutshell you can practice it and you will be fine.

How's the WLB and work pressure at Raytheon? Are you a software engineer?

Why don’t you have a bit more confidence in yourself? I hate the LC grind but ultimately it’s a linear game - more questions solved more chance of success. Yes it sucks that it has become an arms race now thanks to the flood of people wanting to enter the industry. But if you don’t even compete you are letting some moron eat your lunch.

I suppose the interview would be more leetcode heavy for a new grad. Do more mock interviews or pick some companies for practicing to get over the anxiety issue. It’s a good time to interview for ppl tend to panic. Once companies go back to whiteboard coding it will be harder.
