Hey y'all. I've been out of luck for this new grad interview loop. It seems like my other friends have been getting offers left and right, but even after having done around 130 leetcode questions (~50 I've done over twice) I still haven't been able to crack most interviews. I did around 170 last interview loop for internships and didn't do so hot either, although I admit that last year I was just blindly doing question after question without really thinking about it. I think this year I genuinely I did the best I could given the time that I had. I actually went through different concepts and studied them deliberately, reviewing old questions after a week or so. I'd say in total, with the overlaps between these two years, I've done around 230 - 250 LC total This year I was able to make it onsite to 3 relatively selective companies for onsites (palantir, snap, and two sigma) but wasn't offered the position. I know some people who did around 100 or even less and are able to land offers at multiple selective companies. Am I going to spend the rest of my career just trying to get better at leetcode if I want to optimize for the career growth? What should I do in the time I have left in school? It seems like once I have a job I won't have the luxury to grind out leetcode anymore. What are some ways to improve my study strategies? Is it really just a function of the volume of leetcode questions that you do? I feel like I definitely made a little progress, but it's scary that I only improved x amount after spending my time after my internship grinding only to have not really achieved much this loop. There's definitely something people are doing differently right? Is it even possible to do 600 leetcode questions in a single interview loop? Lmao TC: 0 Something to note is that yes I did get a return offer from the company I worked at last summer, but Salesforce has no hiring bar
If you get pretty far in plantair, SNap And 2 sigma, you would have been able to get in Amazon and Microsoft, since they are much less competitive. Did you not get the interviews with them ?
I was never given a chance to interview with any of FANG, and google isn't hiring new grads anymore
I feel in a similar position to you. While I got an new grad offer from palantir, I didnât even make it onsite to Fb, Snap, Google, Two Sigma, Stripe, Airbnb or anyone in that category. A lot of resume rejections and failing the Fb phone screen. It seems you need to intern at these places to have a chance at working there after college. At least you got onto on-sites! And I have 3-4 decent internships too. Maybe we just need to get lucky and gain competence at our jobs for the next time (L4 roles and L5)? You only need to crack one prestigious company I feel and then youâre pretty set it and forget for a job.
Thanks man for the input. It's nice to know there are others who relate.
Unlucky year, hiring was pretty strong the last 3 years I feel.
Try getting a LC premium and really going through all the concepts strategically rather than just solving random questions
Salesforce is not even a bad company. Idk what youâre crying about
Tell that to all the other blinders who shit on Salesforce on the daily hahaha
That's just run of the mill shitposting. Salesforce is a pretty solid company
More LC.
Or apply to less competitive companies
