I’m looking to purchase a new laptop or ultra book. I’ve been a Windows user since I was a kid but I’m not sure if I should keep using it or buy some sort of Apple laptop. I want something flexible for form factor so I can leave my iPad at home when I travel. Suggestions under $2000?
surface book 2 or surface laptop 2 (macbook air equivalent)
I was leaning in that direction.
With surface book 2 you can leave your iPad at home or sell it😄
There's this xps 13 developer edition. Have read it's a good one if you're looking for factory installed Ubuntu.
Lenovo x1 carbon and you're done. I also use a pixel book and AWS cloud9, you'd be surprised how far that gets you.
I've also been a Windows user for a very long time (with a few years on Ubuntu/Mint too) and not really used a Mac til now. The keyboard layout makes me want to kill myself. The screen is nice. The dock is shit, command tab is shit, and it's not as polished as people will have you believe. Stick with Windows or find a laptop that plays well with Linux imo.
Can't agree with this enough. Just spend as much as you're willing to on a nice Thinkpad, only good thing about the mbp is the trackpad but even then trackpoints are way better once you start using them.
