I have a verbal offer for a senior swe equivalent position at nextdoor. I'm a believer in long term prospects of nextdoor but would love to get some additional information from the employees. I am talking to the ads and platform teams. I am leaning towards the ads team where my role requires building some full-stack ads tools. How is the culture and WLB in the ads engineering team? Is it a good team to join ? It seems that a strike price increase for the options is imminent and I won't be able to join before this happens :( Are employees bullish on the long term value of the stock options and the growth trajectory of the company? The recruiter has not provided me the exact TC details of my offer yet but I will update this post once I get that. Any input is appreciated. #nextdoor #nextdooroffer
Yes Employees are very bullish ever since sarah took over. Ads team has a good roadmap for 2021 ( at least in my opinion )
Do you have any idea about ads team WLB?
Ads team WLB is among the worst, although platform team isn't much better. If you want good WLB see if you can get on a product pillar
why canโt you join before strike increase? ask them to set start date as needed and take immediate vacation or similar. next door might be too big already to accommodate that but it wonโt hurt to ask. also it shows very strong interest
As per the recruiter the strike price increase is happening April 1 (!!) but will ask - as you said it doesn't hurt.
oh. too late then
Interviewed for a senior data scientist role there. In the hr round, they told me the total comp is around 300k which is not even higher than my current l4 TC at google. So didn't proceed.
Tried them once, terrible food and made me stomachache. Donโt join!!
we dont make food lol
