What's the level of frontline EM at Nextdoor? Is it L5? What offer can I expect? Recruiter said I can expect around $205k in base and around 30 to 50k in options (latest strike price) over 4 years.
It’s hard to say if there is a mapping
50k options is great if it's against the latest strike price. If it's against the preferred price or secondary market price then maybe not.
I don’t follow. It is the number of units that is fixed. It doesn’t matter what you think it is calculated based on. The value is determined.
I don't think it'll be 50k options. Based on the recruiter, that'd be upper-end. They're basing the price on the secondary market ($40+). Grant value = Options * (secondary market - strike price)
Starting EM maps to senior IC, the next level maps to staff IC, next maps to senior staff, then director. TC and YOE?
Don't know the new TC yet. My current TC is $590k. 11+ yoe
L5 maps to a Senior Manager or M3 internally. Here is some math based on 40k grant for simplicity: Considering current secondary market price ~43 and strike price ~13, you can expect a net gain of $30 per share That offer is a strong offer. Enjoy
Thanks. It looks like it's gonna be L4 then. Not sure if they're going to match my current TC
OP, can you share any details about the EM interview at nextdoor? Coding round? how many system design interviews? how much emphasis on leadership skill interviews? And what was the timeline like from application to offer? Congrats!
Is that $30-50k USD in options annually ? If so fairly bad for Nextdoor. I was offered 45k USD worth annually as a mid-level SWE a few years ago.
I think op meant the units. And $45k annually is low, even a few year back but depends on your level and yoe.
Yeah, I turned it down.
