Thinking about joining Shutterfly. What are your thoughts about working here? What is the culture & working environment like?
So far so good...I'd rather work somewhere more interesting but I'm happy to have a job during this pandemic
Pros: - Customers love the products and that translates to a happy work culture - The photos & personalization stuff makes it kinda interesting to work on, as far as ecommerce goes Cons: - We just got acquired, had a layoff and a lot of people quit. The company is kinda in a temporary funk - Tech org is a little dysfunctional. We have trouble attracting decent tech talent
It is okay. Work life balance is decent and there are interesting problems to work on. If you are looking at joining a team that is driven by product it isn’t always smooth sailing. Tech teams do good work and have a lot of learning opportunities. People are smart and helpful but there are a number of management issues that are unlikely to settle soon.
Mood isn’t as good as it was before Jsn. I’d keep looking at other companies.
Today, the company cancelled 401k match for a minimum of 6 months and cancelled the merit increases that were promised to employees 2 weeks ago. The company doesn’t give 2 shits about employees, process in Tech is dysfunctional, leadership is inept. Health insurance is decent. I would keep looking if you’re in a halfway decent org right now.
No way
No way
Keep looking.
Got an interview next week for Senior IT Manager from Shutterfly. I see alot dis array in the blogs for Shutterfly. I am currently at Intel pretty decent employee structure there. What benefits does Shutterfly have or is there any left after the pandemic?
