Currently evaluating a offer from Nielsen for SSE role. Want to understand how’s Nielsen work life balance and work culture is . Does it have PIP like culture for performance. How does unlimited PTO work, is it really unlimited or it depends on manager. Familiar with the outsourcing to India and working with offshore model. Does Nielsen allow to work from India for 2-4 weeks a year ? Also does how does internal transfer process works. Planning to go back India after 2-3 years. Current 103K New : 125k base no stock only bonus YOE : 5 #Nielsen #officelife #workplace
Depends on the team but I know a lot of instances where people were able to work from other countries for extended periods of time. I never had an issue with PTO. Possibly one of the only good perks of working there..I can't say your new team would have the same benefits. Work culture / WLB depends on team but it was pretty laid back and I didn't really care about the job so didn't work very hard.
Every Nielsen employee I know of that was any good has either left the org or is actively trying. I'd suggest looking for something better.

Thanks , The offer is for one of the digital team
Nielsen has great work life balance. They really take care of their employees. We don’t get paid much, but that’s the trade off. Again, I can’t speak for everyone. From what I’ve seen and the teams I interact with, they have a good balance. Lots of politics on the product side. But as long as you’re showing that you’re working and making an effort, there shouldn’t be a problem. I don’t know how the internal process works, but Nielsen has always been flexible. I had a colleague who worked from Europe for a month working US hours.
Thanks .
Oh yeah... The politics are so bad
