Looking for detail on relocation packages for Nike HQ. —> Costs covered for movers, childcare options, temp housing, realtor, etc. Anyone have experience moving a family to Beaverton / Portland? thanks!
@op where are you moving in from ?
This is helpful. I will be reloc'ing as well, and wanted to know what the typical reloc package looked like. Is it true they'll cover closing costs for new employees selling a home as well?
Nike uses a third party called Cartus for all relocation services. You get some standard benefits plus the ability to pick and choose extras. From a high level you get all of your goods shipped and stored for two months, temporary housing for two months, a rental car for two months, a housing allowance (700 for the first year and 350 for the second year I believe), tax consultation, house finding assistance though a local realtor, a lump sum for every child meant to help with childcare/school. Or you can take the cash equivalents (15k max or so).
Really helpful, thank you! Is the housing allowance you mention just a monthly stipend? Do you know if it varies based on rent vs own?
Yeah, it’s a monthly stipend (tax free) paid by the relocation company. It doesn’t matter what you use it for, there’s no proof required. Only the family size matters; I think you get a hundred or two extras if you have a kid or two, and even more money for 3 or more kids.
