I have competing offers from Meta, Doordash, Snap and Stripe. Yet funnily Google recruiter says that we can't match the TC and told our stock is bit stable and we have good WLB( I laughed so hard at this after call, can this be reason to lowball)!
Is Google now used only for increasing TC at other companies? 2 teammates apart from me are also interviewing and the only thing common between us in companies is Google 😂 and Obviously Amazon
YOE-1.7
TC(170)
All of my offers are between 260-280k excluding Google. They are no where near currently

Something like 150 salary, 15% yearly bonus, 250 stock is probably reasonable.
Maybe google feels it doesn’t need to as it has more to offer then money.
For most of us at goog, we are happy with the comp and benefits. Also working with top people doesn’t equal more money.
Some of the smartest ppl I met are outside tech.
To note googles wlb and great stock growth is really underrated. I am making ~350k as a 3.5 yoe L4. I dont think many companies could beat it significantly and with the wlb that allows me to pursue things outside work. And i am working on projects which I decide to and is pretty innovative. Other startup companies are too focussed on short term wins that they cant allow their engineers to pursue high impact long term projects. But again thats what I like.
The good engineers at google are almost all L7IC+ and compared to them most l5 google engineers are average.
