After verbally and by email saying we had Christmas off got a text today that we are running production on Christmas. So everyone required to run or support the line just lost Christmas. Line workers, operations, maintenance, etc... all just got a promise broken. Plans with family. Sorry some high up dickhead decided to screw workers at Tesla. It's crap. Probably illegal in some way (I know labor law says there are no official labor holidays in California, but breaking verbal and written promises can't be allowed). *************Update 12/21/18************ So, a couple days ago management suddenly changed their mind and Christmas Eve and Day are now optional work days. I waited to update my post here once I was confident that they wouldn't change their minds again. I'm happy to get to spend Christmas with my family. Would have been nice to have more consistency. The frustration of the situation was gnarly. In the future I'm going to be not so trusting of the promises they make when it comes to things like this. I'll make sure I don't get non-refundable tickets for instance. I appreciate your comments on the situation. Hope you all have a Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!
Maybe he will Be visited by ghosts of Christmas past and future
Hopefully something worse. Even Scrooge gave his workers Christmas off.
All you can do is quit and leave a scathing review on glassdoor. Its not much but if enough people do that and the company gets a reputation that's when things will change
The spice must flow
As a shareholder I don’t mind this. As a human being this is a dick move.
It helps production/stock in the short term. In the long run this kind of crap lowers morale and increases turn over. So it may ultimately be a big negative.
Yep as a shareholder i do mind this. I want my companies to treat their workers with at least basic standards of American holidays.
Strike coming.
Love the product, but dick move. This one day of production will cost them way more than it's worth in morale.

SAD!
I wonder if employees at startups ever work on holidays to make their company prosperous. 🤔
Wow, it’s that bad. So much for worshiping iron man Elon
Is working at Netflix just as stressful?
Not at all, we do get holiday freezes and unlimited vacations. It would also depend on the team. In my organization, things are not hectic
