No scalability experience

Our team develops health software that is hosted locally at the client side. So as you can see our solution is not centrally hosted and at max for a big client you may see couple of tens of thousands of requests/day hitting their local server. So we do performance testing accordingly as well sending few hundreds of requests/min. During my last onsite with amazon the interviewer didn’t seem to be impressed by this. But I didn’t want to lie and cook some stories. So I’m not sure how do I impress interviewer with just my theoretical scalabilty knowledge.

Just make it up.

But I’m not sure if that’s sustainable in an interview as I might bomb some follow up questions and it might create negative impact.

Just be honest. Not everyone is expected to have large scale experiences.

Are you SDE 1? What Google said is correct if you're new, but you can also definitely read and learn a lot about scaleable services from the internet. Don't lie since there's a good chance they'll drill you on something like this, too

I’m a recent SDE 2 with total 2.5 yoe
