Outside of that, medicine. But hard to define 8 years of experience there. I guess if you count medical school + residency as 8 years total then specialist doctors can come out making 500k but that's rare. More likely to hit that with real 8 years of experience as a specialist doctor.
When you work for an independent shop you MIGHT make more but usually less as it’s fluctuating (I mean serious high end cars or race prep in good areas / very reputable shops) but that’s pretty much top $
Which is hard work and equals new grad in tech.
Very cool job - no doubt, 6 figures - true. But won’t go over it without owning a place which is riskier and then you mainly manage people and busy bringing clients
Remember that overtime is time-and-a-half pay. If you work a 50 hour week, your income goes up by almost 40%. Work a 60 hour week, your income jumps by 75%.
My buddy who was a tech, it was all in the overtime (plus some top-employee bonuses).
